THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE

What to expect:

Starting along the river in Hamilton's premier dining precinct, fuel yourself before the day with coffee and baked goods at Rise Bakery Portside Wharf. Dripping in unmistakeable authentic French charm, Rise Bakery has you covered from sweet to savoury, no matter how you want to start your day. Mingle, make new friends and check out great cars while the convoy assembles.

Heading out from Rise Bakery, we'll take a short trip through the streets of North Brisbane on our way to mountain roads more appropriate for our machines. Once we clear the bustle of the city, we'll make our way up Bunya Road towards the tight, technical Clear Mountain Road, a staple of our Brisbane drives due to the amount of quality driving it packs into such a short road. If you haven't done Clear Mountain before, you'll be wanting to do it again on the way home.

Popping out the other side of Clear Mountain, we get a break from the twisties as we travel up past Lake Samsonvale. Indulge in the views along the wide sweeping corners before we get back into the technical stuff on the twisting roads of Mount Mee. We'll be going up and coming down in one fell swoop, before hooking a right at Woodford to head into the Glasshouse Mountains and stop at The Lookout Cafe for a short break.

After soaking in the epic hinterland views (and probably some more coffee), our drive continues with our special hinterland loop route, nicknamed the Little Australia Loop (don't worry, you'll get this once you open the map). Hitting Maleny, Kenilworth, Mapleton and all the good roads in between, there's no better way to experience the variety of quality tarmac the Sunshine Coast Hinterland has to offer.

The connection with our cars restored, our brakes warm and our tyres sticky, it's time to stop in at The Barrel @ Clouds Vineyard for lunch. An iconic, aptly named destination shaped like a giant wine barrel nestled in the grounds of Clouds Vineyard, The Barrel will host our group for a decadent dining experience atop the mountain. For the wine lovers amongst us, expect a selection of South East Queensland wines, predominantly sourced from the famed Granite Belt including exclusive Clouds Vineyard label offerings.

Lunch concludes the experience, but the fun doesn't stop there: guests are free to join us for an extended drive from The Barrel via Wootha to Woody Point to watch the sunset. Once the sun dips below the horizon, the remaining guests are welcome to make their way home.
